Dr. Tate was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1956. He graduated from Princeton University in 1978 and University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1982. His general surgery residency and surgical oncology fellowship were spent at the University of Illinois Hospitals in Chicago from 1982-1990. He has practiced surgical oncology in Lexington since 1990. His professional interests include the diagnosis and surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the skin, breast, endocrine system (including thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal), GI tract (including salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, colon and rectum) and soft tissues.
